WHAT IS THE ENGINE MANUFACTURER'S
POSITION ON RE-REFINED OIL?
General Motors: encourages the use of properly
qualified re-refined motor oil products.
Chrysler Corperation: encourages the use proper
disposal and recycling of used oil to preserve natural resources and the quality of the enviroment. Recycling is
encouraged by the purchase and use of these products.
Detroit Diesel: favors the recycling of waste oil
and permits the use of re-refined motor oils in all engine product lines.
Ford Motor Company: a re-refined motor oil
produced with stringent manufacturing controls and batch to batch testing of low temprerature viscosity performance
and other significant characteristics would comply with Ford's recommendations.
Cummins Engine Company: re-refined lubricating
motor oils may be used in Cummins engines if they have API quality designation signifying they have been tested
and meet the minimum standards for that quality level.
